A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Gracie Zielinski has been captivated by music from a young age. She was enrolled in Suzuki violin lessons as a child and grew up surrounded by a deep appreciation of the arts.
After many years of classical music studies, Gracie became increasingly interested in the application of new music and popular genres for the violin. She began experimenting with improvisation in her dad’s blues band and also began to write her own arrangements for recording projects.
During her time in North Carolina, Gracie founded Mint String Quartet with her fellow string friends. The ensemble enjoyed a busy performance schedule with many community engagements and private events, also serving as Resident Chamber Ensemble of Music For a Great Space in 2023. Gracie has enjoyed a varied freelancing career, performing regularly with the Western Piedmont Symphony, Fayetteville Symphony, Carolina Philharmonic, Salisbury Symphony, and others. Additionally, she loves to play in the pit for opera and theater productions, most recently serving as Concertmaster for Dear Evan Hansen at Theater Raleigh and as Principal Second Violin for Le Nozze di Figaro in Saluzzo, Italy.
Gracie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from University of North Carolina Greensboro, and is currently earning her Master’s degree from University of Maryland. She is now based in the DMV area.
